    So that's what this forum is about? Is that what America is about now? Hatingfellow Americans? We're so politically divided lately that it
    could lead to
    civil war if we don't knock this shit off. Just because I don't think Democrats are complete idiots and trying to take over the country,
    doesn't makemake me wrong for having a different opinion.

    No - but DoveNET IS an unmoderated forum... I feel strongly about the upcoming elections and feel we have really been dealt a terrible hand to vote over - I cannot imagine a Harris POTUS; and hate that the republican party has bowed to Trump.

    I think your post was in the right place, but don't get too stoked about much change here - like all over the county, you have to divided camps here.

    What I want is for us all to come back to the dinner table, for it to be OK that we disagree, for us all to listen AND compromise - but... 2024 and all.

    There are some other candidates running this year. However, as some people say, 3rd-party candidates probably have little chance of winning. Ideally I still feel like it's good to vote for who you think would be the best candidate, but in all likelyhood, we'll have either Trump or Harris. I feel like the US is a bit stuck in the 2-party system, and I feel like something needs to change eventually so that there's a better chance of voting in a good candidate.

    I did vote Libertarian in 2012 and 2016 because in California, if the
    Democrat was an ax murderer, they would still vote for him or her.

    I agree - we certainly need something different, and I think the JFK thing is just gonna take votes from Trump.

    In this [particularly bad situation] I prefer Trump [record] over Harris [big fat nothing burger] but am concerned... what I WANT is a completely different option;

    So I hope people think, and make a vote that they might not want to... IMO, Harris would be a damn nightmare for another long 4 years.

    I agree. The two major parties have made it so difficult for a third-party candidate to win by making it nearly impossible for them to get on the
    ballot in all 50 states. Last I heard, RFK Jr was still not on the ballot
    in every state.

    In this [particularly bad situation] I prefer Trump [record] over Harris [big fat nothing burger] but am concerned... what I WANT is a completely different option;

    Same here, and same here.

    True. I have been surprised at how quickly the last 4 years have gone by though.

    If you look at Harris record, it's not good at all. When she was Attorney

    General of California. She had 9 death row inmates die on her watch and those

    They had evidence to overturn a conviction, possibly innocent. She also made

    black criminals to stay long sentences because of cheap labor. That is just

    many of what I have a problem with. She also says she is against big drug

    companies, but 3 of her biggest donors to her campaign are big pharma. She also

    has one of the worst foreign policies. I fear if she's elected we will have

    world war 3 and I don't even think she would respond if we were attacked to be

    honest.

    Nor do I. If she did respond, I am not sure she'd know how to
    appropriately.
