Re: fsxNet - Passwords in Mystic BBS

Howdy,
I wonder where to put my Node Password in the Echonode Settings for fsxNet. I now only type it in as "TIC" password and on the Password setting where i put net1.fsxnet.nz.
Do i have to set it as "PKT" and "FIX" password also or only as "TIC" password?
This depends on what your setup is with the hub. I dont think Paul uses packet passwords (I do for Hub 3) - but it probably would help to understand what each password does:
* Session password, is for your BINKP session - it will be mandatory to be able to receive mail from a remote. If you send mail to a remote without setting up a secure session, your mail might not be processed.
* TIC password, this is used for TIC files that you receive from the remote, so your system can process incoming files that the remote sends you. Optional but often used.
* FIX password, goes on the subject line of a netmail message, for you to send commands to the remotes "areafix/filefix" manager, and that manager can validate you. Optional, but required if you want to send areafix/filefix messages.
* PKT password, optional, but packets you send and receive will have this password imbedded in the packet file, so you can validate that the packet is for you (and the remote can validate the packet is from you).
Hope this helps.
