• Migrating to Linux from Windows

From Garon@21:2/133 to All on Wed Oct 2 09:00:18 2024
Hi. I am in the process of migrating to a different system. Right now Time Machine BBS is timemachinebbs.ddns.net:23. I want to switch everything over to TimeMachineBBS.com:2323. all the files//doors are switched over and working. The only issue I am having (that I'm aware of) is connecting to fsxNET. all the appropriate ports on my router/server are opened. I try to do ./mutil and it states it cannot find FIDONET.NA I copied the file over. I go into my messages Index and NOTHING. Do I need to contact fsx or am I missing something. any clues would be helpful.

    Thanks!!!

    Hi Garon,
as far as I know the only time mutil needs the "FILENONE.NA" files is if you are using the "Import_FIDONET.NA" option. This option is only needed if you are importing message bases. If you copied over your files to Linux you should not need to import that.

However, if you do need to import, or have copied files over, do make sure you check the file names as Linux is case sensitive. Also note if you have events that require Linux to execute programs inside your Mystic directory you will need to tell Mystic to pit a "." There is an option to set that in the event editor.
