Interesting. TLP's entire install is on an NFS mount.. I see it using
some 62k for XFSKRNL while RLFOSSIL is using 84k. Shelled out of FD I'm still showing ~540k available. There's not much that won't run in
    that...

Some games like Monster Bash and Dune II have higher conventinal memory requirments. Monster Bash won't work reliably with anything under 600k free at least that has been my experience with it.
Dune II needs a lot of conventional memory if you also want sound blaster digitized sound effects...

Most other stuff will be fine with 540k though. But I like dune II and
Monster Bash is a really nice EGA platformer that has some of the best EGA graphics I've seen in a platformer from that period. Also the sound blaster support is nice & it has a decent sound track.

... Out of the frying pan, into the spilt milk.

Makes sense, I've never considered playing games in an emulator. I tried a
few in dosbox once.. Autoduel, and StoneKeep. If'n I dropped rlfossil out of load given if its playing games, and perhaps share, it'd be close to 600k
    even with xfs installed still.

The last DOS games I can recall playing at all, were... Zone66 and Ravenloft, both used the DOS4GW though... so although they wanted a lot of ram, conventional wasn't such an issue. Earlier stuff like Might & Magic 3 were pretty happy without much in the way of resources.

I hope you enjoy them, there are even mods for Dune II that will work. Super Dune II Classic works fine on my 286, you can find it on moddb.com.
